Edward Owens Watson is licensed to practice law in all federal and state courts in the State of Mississippi. His practice areas include municipal law, employment, worker’s compensation, business formation, landlord/tenant, contracts, family law, and wills & estates.
Attorney Watson is an Assistant Hinds County Attorney serving the citizens of Hinds County in Youth Court, the City of Jackson Municipal Court, Hinds County Court, and Hinds County Justice Court.
Prior to joining Alexander & Watson, P.A., he was employed as an associate with Phelps Dunbar where his practice included litigation and consultation in the areas of Civil Rights and Title VII, as well as the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Housing Act, and the Voting Rights Act. He provided public and private entities advice regarding performance evaluation appraisal systems, development of employment policies and practices, employee handbooks and employment liability. While employed with Wilkins, Stephens and Tipton, P.A., his practice included nursing home litigation and medical malpractice defense.
He is a native of Terry, Mississippi. He is a member of Little Bethel C. M. E. Church in Terry, Mississippi. He is married to Shanell H. Watson of Meridian, Mississippi and they have three sons, Nicholas, Sean, and Barrett. |
